It's one of the most common questions we hear in our IV lounge: "How often should I come in?" The honest answer is that it depends on why you're coming in, what's in your drip and how your body responds.
Here is a simple way to think about it.
As-Needed Drips
Many patients book an IV when life calls for it. Common reasons include:
- Recovering from travel or jet lag.
- Rehydrating after a long run, a race or time in the Carolina heat.
- Feeling run down during a demanding week.
- Preparing for or recovering from a big event.
- For these situations, an occasional drip is usually all people are looking for.
Routine Drips
Some people prefer IV therapy as part of a regular wellness routine. A schedule of every two to four weeks is common for patients focused on hydration, energy support or recovery during heavy training.
Routine visits are also where a membership like our IV Club can make sense, since it lowers the cost of each drip.
What Affects Your Ideal Frequency
Your goals: hydration, recovery, immune support or energy support.
Your drip: some ingredients, such as NAD+, are often scheduled differently than a basic hydration drip.
Your health history, medications and any conditions that affect fluids, kidneys or heart health.
How you feel after each visit.
More is not automatically better. IV therapy works best alongside sleep, water, nutrition and movement, not in place of them.
Shots: A Faster Option Between Drips
If you want support between drips, vitamin injections like B12, vitamin D or Lipo-B take only a few minutes. Some patients alternate quick shots with less frequent drips.
When to Talk With a Clinician
Talk with a provider before starting IV therapy if you are pregnant or nursing, have heart or kidney concerns, take several medications, or have been told to limit fluids. Before your first IV or shot, Push Med completes a $35 medical clearance exam, good for one year.
The Bottom Line
Whether you come in once a season or every few weeks, the right schedule is the one that fits your goals and has been reviewed by a medical provider. Browse our IV therapy menu to see current drips and pricing.
